How-To: A Green-Toned Eye, with Britney
Green is having a moment, and it's friendlier than it sounds.
Green reads as a bold choice until you see it on. Pine, sage, olive: they flatter more eye colors than people expect, and worn as a liner rather than a full lid, green is about as low-risk as a color gets. It's also very fall.
Britney put together a walkthrough. It's about four minutes, and it's the first in a series we'll keep adding to.
The greens we have in the studio right now
- Age Defying Eyeliner in Pine, the deeper forest green
- Age Defying Eyeliner in Sage, softer and grey-green, the easier one if you've never worn green
Both are creamy pencils, so they blend before they set. If you want green with a little more presence, ask about smudging one along the lower lash line as well as the upper.
What makes it last
Color on the lid does better with something underneath it. We carry Eye Shadow Primer and Eye Shadow Base, and for lashes there's Mascara Primer plus the Creamy Flo-Matic and Fat Lash mascaras. Night Navy is a nice partner for green if black feels too heavy.
Come try it on us
Green is the kind of shade you should see on your own face before you buy it, and that's exactly what the studio is for. Merle Norman consultations at Accents are always free, walk-in or by appointment, and we'd suggest calling ahead so we can set aside someone to play with colors with you.
More on getting the most from a visit is in our guides on eye makeup by eye shape and what a studio visit is like.
