Tribal Denim: Fits, Rises and Leg Shapes

They are rises, not styles. Audrey is mid rise. Brooke is high rise. Sophia is the curvy fit.

On the Sophia jeans we have looked at, the construction includes back dart shaping and an inner elastic waistband, which is what closes the waist gap if you have a smaller waist relative to your hips.

Nine, which Tribal calls The Lineup: skinny, slim, straight, barrel, flare leg, palazzo, wide crop, wide and drama wide.

Tribal's own stretch fabric. They describe it as incredibly soft, with unlimited stretch that adjusts to any shape and strong fabric recovery — engineered for all-day comfort without sagging or stretching out through the day.

One style we checked runs 64% cotton, 25% polyester, 9% rayon, 2% spandex. Blends vary by style.

Tribal says it resists shrinking when the care instructions are followed. That qualifier is theirs and it matters — see our Tribal care guide, because their denim care genuinely differs style to style.

One of Tribal's named denim sub-lines, alongside Boundless Stretch and The Jenna. The Blue Thread jean we looked at is 100% cotton — a rigid, traditional denim rather than a stretch one, which changes both the fit and the care.

A modern wide-leg jean with a high waist and a relaxed, elongated silhouette. Worth knowing: Tribal markets it as an online exclusive, so it may not be something we can order in. Ask us and we will check with our rep.

Core numeric sizing runs 00 through 16. Plus denim runs 14W through 24W, plus 1X, 2X and 3X.

One oddity: size 00 shows up on jeans but not on Tribal's published size chart, so if you are at that end, come try them.

It varies by style, and Tribal only publishes it per product rather than as a chart. Real examples we have checked: 26.5", 28", 30" and 31".

Since Tribal makes no petite or tall lengths, the inseam on the specific style is the thing to check. We can measure any pair in the store for you.

A caution worth passing on: we have seen at least one Tribal jean whose title says high-rise while its own spec panel says mid-rise. If rise matters to you, measure the pair in front of you rather than trusting the name.
