Caring for Tribal Clothing

Almost. Across every Tribal garment we checked, two things were consistent: cold water, and in nearly every case do not bleach.

Everything else — cycle, drying, ironing — changes from style to style. The sewn-in label on your garment is the authority.

Because their fabrics vary a great deal — 100% cotton, Tencel blends, cotton-nylon-spandex, cotton-poly-rayon-spandex. A single instruction that suited all of them would be wrong for most of them.

We would rather tell you that plainly than give you a tidy rule that ruins a sweater.

Cold. Every Tribal care instruction we have read specifies cold water.

Almost never. Most Tribal garments say do not bleach outright. We have seen exactly one exception — a cotton-nylon shirt whose label says bleach when needed. Check your label; assume no.

It depends on the garment, and this is the instruction that varies most. Real examples from Tribal's own product pages: one style says tumble dry low, another says line dry, and a third says do not tumble dry at all.

There is no safe universal answer here. Read the label.

Stretch fabrics generally want the delicate cycle. Sturdier 100% cotton pieces are usually fine on a normal cycle. Tribal's own labels follow that pattern.

Usually on low if needed. One 100% cotton style specifies medium iron. As ever, the label wins.

At least one Tribal denim style says wash before wear right on its care instructions. Not all of them do. Worth a look at the label before the first wear.

Cold water, do not bleach. Beyond that: stretch denim goes on a delicate cycle, 100% cotton denim on a normal cycle.

Drying is where it splits — we have seen tumble dry low, line dry, and do not tumble dry across three different Tribal denim styles. Check yours.

One Boundless Stretch style specifically says to. It is good practice for any dark denim regardless, since it slows fading on the outer face.

Tribal builds recovery into Boundless Stretch and says it holds shape all day without sagging — but they attach that to following the care instructions. Hot water and high heat drying are what break down elastane. Cold wash, gentle cycle, and skip the hot dryer.

Tribal publishes no storage guidance, so we will give you ours rather than dress it up as theirs: fold knits and sweaters rather than hanging them, so the shoulders do not stretch. Denim is happy either way.

Generally yes, at any retailer. If something seems wrong with a garment, hold off on washing it and bring it in first — a washed garment is much harder to make a case for.
