Brow Mapping and Lipliner by Lip Shape

Merle Norman puts it simply: eyebrows frame the face, and the best natural makeup looks start with a great brow. Everything else sits inside that frame.

A three-point method for finding where your brow should begin, peak and end, using a brush held against your face as a straight edge. It gives you the same brow on both sides without guessing.

The head. Hold the brush aligned at the crease where your nose meets your nostril, running straight up. Where it crosses the brow line is where the brow should begin.

The arch is the brow's highest point. Line the brush from the middle of your nostril through the outer edge of your iris. Where it crosses is your arch.

The tail. Line the brush from your outer nostril through the outer corner of your eye. And a detail people miss: the head and the tail should sit level with each other horizontally.

It depends on the brow. Merle Norman's guidance: light brows do well with a pencil plus powder; sparse brows benefit from layering products; full brows mostly need a gel to style them.
