Brighton Watches: Batteries, Water and Warranty
Brighton watches have a couple of quirks worth knowing before you wear one every day — chiefly that they are not swimming watches, and that the warranty is generous on the movement but short on everything around it.
Water
Are Brighton watches waterproof?
No. Brighton is direct about this: their watches are not fully waterproof. They may resist minor splashes, but Brighton recommends removing the watch before swimming, showering, or any prolonged exposure to water.
Is water damage covered under warranty?
No. Water exposure is specifically excluded from the watch warranty. This is the most common way a Brighton watch ends up outside coverage.
Batteries
What battery does a Brighton watch take?
Most Brighton watches use a standard SR626SW battery, which is widely available and straightforward to replace.
How long does the battery last?
Roughly one to two years, depending on how much you wear it.
Who can replace the battery?
A jewelry professional can do it, or you can go through Brighton Consumer Care. Call us at 830-693-7573 if you would like a hand figuring out the easiest route.
How does Brighton's mail-in battery service work?
Send the watch to the Brighton Watch Repair Center with your contact information, return address, and a note requesting a battery replacement. Brighton charges $10, which covers the replacement battery and return shipping together. Turnaround varies, so call ahead if you need it by a certain date.
Does a warranty repair include a new battery?
Yes. Brighton includes a brand new battery with watch repairs.
Warranty and Parts
What is the watch warranty?
The mechanism is covered for five years. The battery, band, casing and crystal are covered for one year against manufacturing defects. Water damage is excluded throughout.
Can I get a replacement watch band?
Brighton sells select leather replacement bands for certain styles through Consumer Care. Leather bands run $13.00 plus $7.00 shipping, and are only available for styles still in production.
Where do I find my watch's style name?
On the underside of the watch face, just below the word "Brighton" and above the heart. You will need it when ordering parts.

What movement do Brighton watches use?
A precision Japanese movement.
Do Brighton smartwatch bands fit any smartwatch?
No — Apple Watch only. Brighton is clear that their bands do not fit other smartwatch brands.
They fit 38mm, 40mm, 41mm, 42mm, 44mm, 45mm and 49mm cases. Brighton also sells an Apple Watch band extender as a part, for $6.00.
