About Caite & Kyla: The Embroidered Women's Clothing Brand

Caite with an e. The brand writes itself both "Caite & Kyla" and "Caite and Kyla" on its own site, and its site footer credits "Caite and Kyla." Both are the brand's own. If you have seen it written "Cait" without the e anywhere, including on one of our own listings, the brand's spelling is the one to go by.

Because Seo is a real part of this company rather than a typo. The brand's owner and President is Karyn Seo, and two of the company's clothing lines are called Kyla Seo and Karyn Seo. A listing reading "Caite & Kyla Seo" is naming the same company.

The brand's own about page names her as "owner and President, Karyn Seo," and says she "has since expanded Caite & Kyla into four different umbrellas of clothing lines." The newest of those lines, a leather handbag collection, carries her name.

The brand names Karyn Seo as owner and President, but it does not actually say who founded the company in 1998 or whether that was the same person. We would rather leave that open than attach a name we cannot stand behind.

1998. The brand states the year plainly on its own about page, "Founded in 1998 with a handful of great knit pieces," and repeats it as a "Since 1998" badge on its home page. Knitwear is where it started, and the embroidery the label is known for now grew out of that. The year is unusually direct for a wholesale label and we are glad to be able to quote it.

India. The brand states it directly on its own about page: "All pieces are handcrafted in India under fair and ethical working conditions." Most labels in our knowledge base will not say where their clothing is made, so it is worth noting that this one does.

No, and the brand does not claim it is. Caite & Kyla says its pieces are handcrafted in India. The company itself is based in Tampa, Florida, which is a different thing from where a garment was sewn.

Caite is one of the brand's clothing labels and it appears as its own shopping category on the brand's website. The about page groups it with Kyla Seo as the lines made up of "Knits and woven clothing pieces full of intricate embroidered details," which is a fair description of what we carry.

Kyla Seo is one of the company's clothing lines, grouped by the brand with Caite as the embroidered knit and woven side of the business. The brand also runs a "Kyla Seo Comfort" group on its own site.
